From “The Ghost” to “The Bachelor,” My “Journey” Continues!

“The Ghost of Mount Morbin” by J. R. Traas could definitely be described as a quick and easy read by almost anyone. However, it just wasn’t my cup of tea.  (No offense to Mr. Traas, who I actually had the pleasure of meeting!). I’ll leave it to the sci-fi/fantasy buffs. In the meantime, I think my next “Journey Through a Book” will take me to “The Bachelor” by Carly Phillips.

It takes a very  special woman to catch a Chandler man…

Meet the Chandlers—a trio of sexy Brothers and the most eligible men in town… Until their mother falls ill. As her three sons gather at her side, she makes two desperate demands: “Get married! Give me grandchildren!”

Foreign correspondent Roman Chandler has always prized his freedom above all else.  Now losing a coin toss has sealed this youngest brother’s fate.  Finding someone to escort down the aisle is the easy part—every wannabe bride in sleepy Yorkshire Falls is itching to get hitched to this gorgeous, globe-trotting Chandler man.  But Roman still lusts after the woman who got away.  Stunning heartbreaker Charlotte Bronson has come home to put down roots and get her sexy lingerie business off the ground. She wants a man who won’t go chasing off to the far corners of the earth for a breaking news story.   He wants her to say “I do.”  Will she—or won’t she?  Can the love of the right woman transform a go-it-alone guy into a stick-around-forever kind of man??  Only time will tell.

Maybe I’ll figure it out as I take this.”Journey Through a Book!”

After “Queen Charlotte,” I Must Search For “The Ghost of Mount Morbin!”

I finished my “journey” through Julia Quinn’s Queen Charlotte  today. It was just as enjoyable as the eponymous Netflix series.  Princess Augusta was as annoying in the book as she was in the series, and so was the King’s doctor, Monro. I can only hope that Lady Danbury gets her own story (both in book form and on Netflix) at some point.  As I hold my breath in anticipation of this possibility, I shall embark on a “journey” through The Ghost of Mount Morbin, a novella written by J.R. Traas.

The first story in the Lore of the Lost series, The Ghost of Mount Morbin is an arcanepunk cyberfantasy novella set in J.R. Traas's futuristic world of El.

THE GODS WILL BURN DOWN YOUR HOUSE

Twenty years have passed since his escape. Twenty years of burying secrets, of tilling soil and planting seed. Twenty years spent glancing over his shoulder . . .

Now, they are coming to reclaim what he stole. It’s too late for him, but his wife and son still have a chance.

He turns once more to the darkness — to strike a final bargain.

Other books in the Lore of the Lost universe include:

  • The Rave (The Aelfraver Trilogy Book 1)
  • The Rebel (The Aelfraver Trilogy Book 2)

I’m pretty sure this will be a departure from my usual literary diet, but I’m willing to try something new as I embark on yet another “Journey Through A Book!”
